Game Changer

‘“These patriarchs were jealous of their brother Joseph, and they sold him to be a slave in Egypt. But God was with him’ Acts 7:9.

Joseph was hated for being favoured. To compound Joseph’s problem, he was a favoured dreamer. If you are favoured, you will attract attacks. If you are a dreamer, you will attract attacks. Now combine both, a favoured dreamer – double jeopardy! So Joseph was doubly hated. ‘One night Joseph had a dream, and when he told his brothers about it, they hated him more than ever’ Gen.37:5. The first level of hatred his brothers had for him was for the favour. The second level of hatred was for the dreams. The Bible says ‘but God was with Joseph’. I am praying that the presence of God, the tangible presence of God will be with you consistently, in the Name of Jesus.

When the story of Joseph is being narrated in the New Testament, it is with a ‘but’. A game changer, which is ‘but God was with Joseph’. In other words, when Joseph was in the pit, God was with him. Joseph was still favoured in the pit. Some of us, because we are in the pit, begin to curse God. We begin to question the reality of His favour in our lives. It is the favour that is going to bring you out of the pit. When Joseph was in Potiphar’s house, the Bible says God was with him. Joseph from Potiphar’s house went to prison and the Bible says God was with him. Joseph moved from the prison to the palace and the Bible says God was with him. For some of us, it’s only in the palace that we recognize God. But I am saying to you today, the God from the pit is the same God in Potiphar’s house. He is the same God in the prison and He is the same God that will take you to the palace – the same God! For you, I am praying over you today that you will wax stronger and stronger in Jesus Name. ‘Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over’ Ps.23:5 [KJV]. And that will be your testimony; a table is going to be set before you in Jesus Name. Some are favoured but they are complacent, God is saying to you today ‘dare to dream’.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for being the game changer in my equation. May I consistently drink of Your strength and glory daily, in Jesus Name.
