Not Without Gratitude
‘Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation’ Ps.100:4-5
The third thing you need to know about gratitude is you cannot be all you are made to be without being grateful. In other words, you cannot fulfill your destiny if you are not grateful. Gratitude is very important because it is your environment that determines what grows and what dies in you. If you put a grain of corn on top of your fridge and you check years after, it will still be a grain of corn. But if you put that same grain of corn in fertile soil, it would grow and multiply. Your life is a seed. Where your life is planted determines what grows and what dies in you.
‘Enter his gates with thanksgiving…’ in other words, access His presence with thanksgiving because it is God’s presence. God’s presence is the greatest environment for your potential to blossom. And to access the presence of God, you need gratitude. I often say there is really nothing like a super strong Christian and a super weak Christian. People say but some people stand, some people fall, and some people don’t even seem to be able to follow Jesus. It is simple, check the environment they create around themselves. Every Christian that surrounds himself with filth and bad influence will go down, it is just a function of time. Whereas every Christian that surrounds himself with light, worship, and good influence will go up. A common adage states, “show me your friends and I will tell you who you are”. And if you are not that person yet, I will tell you who you will be. God does not just love you, God likes you. Huge difference. It means God wants to keep company with you. He loves your company. Yes, God Almighty wants to hang out with you. And it is in His Presence that your best will come out. Everybody has a king and a fool inside him or her. The environment you create will determine which one will manifest. If you create a palace, a king will manifest. And in the presence of the King of kings it is the king that continues to manifest. We go through so much pain as people, asking other people [friends, spouse, colleagues] to be what only God can be. God wants you and I to abide in His presence because He loves us. But gratitude begins with acknowledging God. If He doesn’t own you, I pray that He will own you today.
Prayer: God, I acknowledge You as my God. I acknowledge You as my Maker. I acknowledge You as my Owner. I acknowledge that You are good and that Your goodness endures. Thank You Father, in Jesus Name.
