Consider This II

‘Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine’ 1 Sam.17:40 [NIV].

Five is the number for grace. The analysts tell us that the average human being is seven and a half head high. But giants, from nine feet to thirteen feet, are nine head high in comparison. So David had an eleven percent chance to hit goliath’s head. Is that slim? Pretty slim! The Bible says that goliath had a helmet of bronze, so it reduced the space that the stone can even touch. This reduced David’s chances to less than one percent. But David knew that by the grace of God and with the anointing of the Holy Spirit, if he flings the stone it would be a guided missile. David knew the stone would find its way in and kill goliath. So David took the stone and flung it. And guess what, that one stone went straight to that less than one percent opening and killed goliath. What does that teach you and I? Many of us are discouraged because the doctor says it is less than ten percent chance. What’s that? David had less that one percent and he triumphed. Many of you are saying the opportunity before you is a thirty percent chance. That is even too much for God. David had less than one percent and he knew that by the grace of God, this goliath is going to fall down. There may be things before you today that the opportunities are slim. I’m here to say to you, fire your shot and God will guide it to the head of goliath. The opportunities may be slim, just fire your shot! It wasn’t really David’s stone that killed goliath. I have read 1 Samuel 17 in different translations just to be sure it is not a translation issue. Goliath is facing David and David’s stone hits his forehead, goliath should stagger and fall backward right? Logical. But the Bible says goliath fell face down. What does that tell you? It wasn’t the stone! There were angels that were waiting for David to shoot the stone. And as he shot it, an angel guided it so that people will see that the stone hit goliath. As soon as the stone hit goliath, another angel must have given him a blow from behind and goliath fell facedown. David had less than one percent chance and he took it. And by the grace of God he killed goliath. All the goliaths that are before you today, regardless of how slim the probability is, you are going to cut of their heads, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Prayer: Father, in the Name of Jesus, by faith I knock down every goliath before me and I cut off their heads, in Jesus Name.
