The Name Of Jesus

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the FatherPhil.2:10-11

I remember years ago, I was comparatively a new believer. There was a man fully possessed of demons, the demons were speaking queens English, and he was very violent fighting everybody in the room. He said to the head of the prayer unit of the church at the time ‘you are a witch’ and she kept quiet. And he looked at my friend and said ‘you did not pray last night’. He was afraid because he really didn’t pray. All this was taking place in the prayer room and I didn’t want to miss service. So I said to the demon, “Look at me” and the demon could not look at me – victory. You have to celebrate these little victories. So I said to the demon possessed man, “In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth I draw a Blood line now. You are not allowed to cross this part of the room” and I turned my back and I left. My friend was monitoring the man and he told me that the demon would charge at them and get to that line and stop. He wanted to know what I put there. I said there was nothing but the Name of Jesus. I told him that I too didn’t pray the night before because I knew I was going to church the next day [that was my level of understanding at that time]. I said” because you were afraid, you thought you needed to add your prayers to the name of Jesus. You feel that because you did not pray last night so you can’t cast out this demon.” Who said so? At the Name of Jesus, every knee must bow of things in the heavens, of things on the earth, and of things beneath the earth.

By the grace of God years have passed and I can tell you several stories about the Name of Jesus. My getting more matured in God did not make it more potent. It was as potent then as it is potent now. In Acts 19, the sons of Sceva tried to use the name of Jesus. They said “I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!” The Bible says that the demons said; Paul I know, Jesus I know, who are you? And before they could introduce themselves, the demons beat them, tore their cloths, and disgraced them. You will not be disgraced. This is why you must be under the covenant. You don’t want the enemy to single you out and open fire on you. That will not be your portion, in Jesus Name. If you know that you are not born again or you used to be born again but have backslidden. Today is your day for reunion with Jesus. Go to God right now and cry out for mercy and restoration.

Prayer [Hymn]: Jesus is the sweetest name I know. He’s always just the same O bless His Holy Name. That is the reason why I love Him so; O Jesus is the sweetest Name I know. Amen!
