Checks And Balances I
‘Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness!’ Ecc.5:10.
The Almighty will bless you mightily and expand your coast greatly in Jesus Name. Believe me He will. Yet as the Lord begins to bless you, it is important that you put checks and balances in place so that you do not fall into the trap of loving, trusting, and chasing money. The question now is how does one know when he or she has begun to trust, love, and pursue money? For some of us we already know, so the next step is to just repent. But for some of us we need pointers, things we can use as to put ourselves in check as God blesses us. We will discuss three pointers and trust the Holy Spirit to give us deep understanding.
People that love and trust money never have enough. Does that sound like you? Think about it, if you have never felt like you have enough money then you have been deceived. I am talking to myself too. I had to break out of this thing. ‘Those who love money will never have enough’. One characteristic of those who love money is they will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness!’ Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying be complacent. The Bible did not say godliness with complacency is great gain. The Bible says godliness with contentment is great gain [1Tim.6:6]. And contentment is; this is what God has provided for me and I am grateful. You cannot be grateful if you’re not content. If you are saying thank you to God and you are not content, you are not deceiving God. Gratitude only comes when you are content. When the man eats and is satisfied, he says thank you to his wife. But when he is not satisfied, if he says thank you it is probably out of courtesy. God wants you to live a life of gratitude. You cannot be grateful if you are not content. If God can get you to be content with your money, you will be content with your spouse. Some people are not content with their spouses. Instead they are consistently wishing their spouse has a little more of this or is a little less like that. Be content! We teach intending couples at premarital class that come the wedding night, when you open the package, every thing you see is your portion. Just accept it as yours for the rest of your life. If you do that, adultery will not even be an issue.
Prayer: Father, please teach my heart contentment so that my gratitude will be complete before You always, in Jesus Name.
