Follow His Lead

The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and walk along beside the carriage. Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” Acts 8:29-30.

The second way to learn to give more, apart from being deliberate, is to go with the Holy Spirit. Whatever He says for you to do, do it! It is the Holy Spirit that knows the things that your heart has begun to or beginning to worship and He can tell you to give it away because He is a jealous God. Obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit. I am praying that in God’s Favourite House it will be known that if you go there you will find God and your life will change. That people will say that you can just go into God’s Favourite house with your ‘legedisbenz’ and come out with a Mercedes Benz [walk in and drive out], someone can just throw one key at you. And so shall it be in Jesus Name. But it is you and I that God will use to accomplish this. We are going to be so generous. Anything the Holy Spirit says to give, we will give it because when our finances are under God’s control, they are never out of control. When God is the controller, and we obey every word from His mouth, our finances are never out of control. Initially, giving can be painful but it is ultimately always fruitful and rewarding.

By the grace of God my wife and I just want to keep giving and giving. We are open to God to challenge us to give more and more. But it hasn’t always been easy. The very first car we gave away almost caused marital problems. But we went through that initial struggle that everyone faces and soon by the grace of God we would have given out up to twenty cars [say amen]. Now I would say my wife gives more than I do. In fact, the second car we gave out was hers. She bought it brand new with her money. As I was driving out one day, I saw a lady and God said to me give that car to this lady. I told my wife what the Lord had said and she said, “Give it!” And we gave it. My point it this, we learn to give more and more when we listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Whatever He says to you to give, give it. God wants you and I to be rich givers. And the greatest giver of all is God Himself. He gave us His Son Jesus that we can have life and have it more abundantly. I believe that you have been challenged to your core in the area of giving. Yet if you are still wondering how – just how? God is saying He is going to give you the grace to do it.

Prayer: Father, I receive Your grace to give richly, in Jesus Name.
