More Than Enough
‘However, we don’t want to offend them, so go down to the lake and throw in a line. Open the mouth of the first fish you catch, and you will find a large silver coin. Take it and pay the tax for both of us” Matt.17:27.
Live each day confident that God has already provided. It is not when God asks you to sacrifice that He begins to look for bread for you to eat. Have you not heard? He provides seed for the sower and bread for the eater? [2Cor.9:10]. If God says He has made resources available to you then be confident whether you can see them or not. Just know that this situation is not taking God unawares. I may not have the resources but I know God has already provided. It is in that assurance and knowing that revelation begins to come. God is saying behold I will do a new thing. Then He says now it will spring forth. He did not say it has sprung forth. He says I will make a way in the wilderness – future tense. I will make rivers in the desert – again future tense. And He says can you not see it? You need to appreciate the depth in God’s Word. God says He will do something but He is asking ‘can you not see it?’ Its just like a Father telling his son that he will buy him a toy car and then asking his son to just see the car. The son would probably stand puzzled about his father’s sanity. Yet that is how God deals with us. It is in knowing that revelation comes.
Isaac asked Abraham, sacrifice 101 – the principle of sacrificing that you taught me father. I can see the wood, the knife, the altar, and the fire, but where is the sacrifice? And Abraham said, ‘The Lord will provide Himself a sacrifice’. Be encouraged, there is no project that you are taking on right now that God has not provided for – none! As long as you are in His will for your life. God is not just making it up as we go. God has already preplanned every detail. That alone should give you confidence. Jesus and his disciples had a challenge; tax collectors were harassing them to pay tax. So Peter turned to Jesus to find out what to do. And Jesus pointed to his fishing skills. There is no skill that you have that God cannot use. ‘…so go down to the lake and throw in a line. Open the mouth of the first fish you catch, and you will find a large silver coin. Take it and pay the tax for both of us’ Matt.17:27. Do you think that God had not provided before they asked that question? Did the fact that God had provided stop Peter from worrying? Peter was still worrying because He did not know. As soon as he knew, he went from being worried to being at peace. Let it be established in your spirit that the things you are believing God for have already been provided.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, all that is left to say is thank You. I thank You Father for going ahead of me consistently, in Jesus Name
