Ask For Mercy

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks the door will be opened” Matt.7:7-8

The beautiful thing about Jesus is that He always responds to the humble’s cry for help. There is something about crying out to Jesus that unlocks the mercy of God. And you can check from scripture; everyone that cried out to Jesus, Jesus came to their aid. Everyone! Bartimaeus was blind, he shouted Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me! Jesus stopped, attended to him and restored his sight [Mark 10:46-52]. The Syrophoenician woman cried, “Lord have mercy, my daughter is sick” – and even though He didn’t want to, Jesus attended to her cry for help [Mark 7:24-30]. Even the woman that didn’t call but grabbed the hem of His garment, Jesus attended to her [Luke 8:40-55]. Everyone that calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved – everyone. The Word of God says, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened” Luke 11:9-10[KJV]. Totally mind-blowing! I know you are struggling with some things right now, but guess what? Everyone that seeks, finds, everyone that knocks, the door will be opened. And as you knock the doors of heaven will be opened in Jesus Name.

When I first gave my life to Jesus, as I grew in God, I discovered that I loved God and I loved to pray [talk to God]. But I also discovered that prayer could be hard. Anyone that says prayer is not hard has not prayed consistently. Prayer can be tough – hard on the flesh that is. So, I began a journey, a search to discover the alternatives to prayer. I began to study and research, because as far as I was concerned there had to be alternatives to prayer. And at the end of the day, I discovered that there is no alternative to prayer. Prayer is necessary, prayer is not always convenient but prayer is necessary. There are only two times to pray, at the other times you don’t have to pray but these two times you must pray. The first time when you must pray, is when you feel like praying; the second time you must pray is when you don’t feel like praying. Every other time, don’t pray, you’re fine [that is if there is any other time]. Prayer is necessary. But you will discover that what is necessary is not always convenient. There are a lot of things that are necessary but not always convenient but the difference between the great man and the ordinary man is that the great man does what is necessary and the ordinary man does what is convenient. The difference between the great people and the average and normal people, is that great people do what is necessary; the average and normal people do what is convenient.
