Through Christ
“He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ… And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory” Col.1:17, 19, & 27 [emphasis added]
“You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work” 2Tim.3:15-17. God’s Word is extremely powerful so spend consistent committed time to studying it. Spend time again today reading Colossians chapter one. I trust that as you do this, the Holy Spirit will equip you to do every good work. Lisa Withrow says, “Christ at the center of life is the meaning of life and brings meaning to daily living”. You can only come to know such truth when you spend time with God’s Word and when you take a step to do what the Word of God says. Go ahead and make Christ the center of your life because it is the meaning of life. Without Christ, life in this world is meaningless. “For in him we live and move and are!” Acts 17:28 [TLB]. You give your life meaning by making Jesus Christ the center of your life. This singular act, believe me, is the most powerful move anyone can decide on. Why, because Jesus brings meaning to our daily living. In other words, I relate with my husband through Christ the center of my life. I relate with my children through Christ the center of my life. I relate with my colleagues through Christ at the center of my life. I relate with my world through Christ the center of my life. I can relate with the church through Christ the center of my life. I relate with the future through Christ the center of my life.
The trick of the enemy is for us to get us to add something to Christ because he knows that dilutes and negates the power of Jesus in our lives. So the trick of the enemy is to say to us Jesus plus something because he knows that it will be equal to nothing. But Paul is saying to the church in Colossae, is saying to the church wherever you are reading this today, Jesus plus nothing equals everything! Immediately my mathematical brain kicks in, if x plus zero equals ten [x + 0 = 10], then it means x equals ten [x = 10]. So meaning that Jesus plus zero equals everything. So Jesus is everything. Jesus is all. You may be reading this today and one of two things, you have not come to the cross or you have not made Jesus the center of your life. This Word has been preached today for you to believe. Act now!
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I make You the center of my life today and I declare that my all will flow from and get its meaning from the life of Christ, in Jesus Name.
