Who?
“The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out, “Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness” Ex.34:6
It is human nature, when you are asked about yourself, to put your best foot forward. The ‘tell us about yourself’ question is very common at job interviews. And when people are presented with this question, their natural tendency is to tell only the good things about themselves, the things they consider achievements. And for some people, there are parts in their lives that they are ashamed of and do not want anyone to know about. It is my prayer that God will remove every such reproach from your life in Jesus Name. It is human nature to put our best foot forward. Sadly, a lot of single people are making marital decisions [destiny related decisions] based on just the best foot forward and they are running into serious problems. This is why you need to allow God to lead you in all that you do especially as it relates to interactions with people. Single people ought to apply the wisdom of our parents in time past and not abandon it. Our parents would investigate the family background of suitors because they knew that people never tell you the whole story. Make it a habit to consistently ask God who people are at your first meeting. By the power of the Holy Spirit, you will have insight into the hearts and intentions of men. This habit can save you a lot of heartache believe me because it is a habit that has saved my life and propelled me into amazing experiences with God. The truth is that man will always present the good part, man will always tell you what you want to hear, and the things they want you to remember them by. And with man some of those things are not all true.
However, with God you can trust that whatever He says is the whole truth. And just like man, God also puts His best foot forward. However, the good thing about God is that He is all together lovely. Even the part that you have not experienced in God is beautiful. “…God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all”’ 1 John 1:5. God tells you what He wants you to remember most about Him. Moses asked God this question and God replied, “if you do not remember anything about Me, remember this, I Am Merciful, gracious, long suffering and abounding in mercy”. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. You may have strayed far and are wondering if forgiveness is possible. God is saying to you who is seeking Him, “if you do not remember anything about Me remember that I Am merciful”.
Prayer: Lord, I worship You Most Merciful, forever Gracious, Tender and Loving Father. Thank You for Your goodness and unfailing love towards me, in Jesus Name.
