Be Prepared
“…in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor…, and Herod being tetrarch…, and his brother Philip tetrarch…, Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness” Luke 3:1-2
The angel appeared to the shepherds [Luke 2:8-14 please read]. God wants you and I to know that the lack of spiritual status does not disqualify anyone from a spiritual experience or privilege. You cannot say that because you are not a pastor then you cannot find God or hear God. These men were shepherds; they were ordinary people with no status. In fact, in that culture they were like the least recognized professionals. That is if they were regarded as professionals at all.
Is it not amazing how God always chooses to remind us that we do not need any special qualification to find Him? So if you are reading this today and perhaps your life is in turmoil and you are wondering, where is this God? And hoping you can get a man of God to lay hands on you. God will visit you Himself today. You do not any need special qualifications. You do not need a special consecration as it were.
You do not need a special status before God visits you. Moses was at the backside of the desert running away. Interestingly, he was a shepherd too at the time and God visited him. Gideon was hiding, threshing wheat and God visited him. Elisha was running his business when God visited him. David was in the desert with the sheep when God visited him. What I am saying is this; all you need to be is where God has called you to be and God will visit you.
So the lack of status does not disqualify you from spiritual privileges.
In fact, sometimes status can be a hindrance; which is why I do not really like titles. My signature at the end of my emails is usually my name. I sent an email to someone once and the person insisted that I needed to append the title pastor to it. I said I am just a boy of God and he said by every standard, you are a man of God. I said I do not know about that; all I know is that there is a God of men and we are following Him. I am not saying that there is anything wrong with being called a pastor; I am just saying we should not be pre-occupied with titles and positions. God said to Abraham, I will make your name great. God did not say I will make your title great. God is going to make your name great, in Jesus Name.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, visit me today, visit my home and lay Your hands upon all that concerns me, in Jesus Name.
