Curse & Effect
Num.23:23 No curse can touch Jacob; no magic has any power against Israel. For now it will be said of Jacob, ‘What wonders God has done for Israel!’
The third cause of curses is parental curses. While all curses are devastating, a parent cursing a child is one of the most direct and devastating. It is a horrible thing! Please read Genesis 49:3-4. Israel had many wives and concubines so Reuben [his first son], thought he could have just one; and Israel said nothing. Be careful of people that just stay quiet when you offend them. When it was time for blessing his children, Israel released a heavy curse on Reuben. He said Reuben would not excel because he slept with his wife. And Reuben struggled all the days of his life. Even generationally, the tribe of Reuben was very small until Moses came and canceled the curse with just one statement. “Let Reuben not be few” and Reuben began to thrive. If the mother curses, the father can break the curse. If the father curses, your Pastor can break the curse even without fasting.
The fourth cause of curses is territorial curses. Please read Matthew 11:20-24. In this story, the territory was cursed because it resisted the gospel. Different territories have different principalities that monitor and enforce the curses holding that territory down, so for example, there are certain places that when you visit, you discover that you are struggling with lust. That place is probably under a curse and a certain territorial spirit is enforcing it.
Some time ago, I went to plant a church in St. Brunet. There was a festival going on there when we arrived. I saw a figurine in the physical – the figurine literarily came alive and looked at me, as though it knew me. I was rumbling on the inside of me and wanted to engage in warfare immediately. But the Holy Spirit said, “Do not do it!” so I backed down. We entered the country and God gave us amazing favour. On our way out, I felt the Holy Spirit saying, “Do you know why I said you should not engage that figurine?” I said, “No”. And He said, “That was the spirit in charge of that place. If you had engaged it, you would have been deported and you would not even have had the chance to enter the city.
The fifth cause of curses is what we have called the non-tithing curse. Malachi 3:8,10-12 [please read] lays it out clearly; when you do not tithe you put yourself under curse.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me to be completely submitted to You; I decree that I will not act as I think or know, but by the Spirit of the Lord alone, in Jesus Name. Amen!
