Action Time!

James 2:¹⁹ You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. ²⁰ How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless [action]? [emphasis added].

Question 4: Am I taking action? The question you need to ask yourself to go forward is, “Am I taking action?” Walt Disney says, “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing” –Walt Disney. This sounds simple, right? Unfortunately a lot of people just talk and do nothing. You have been talking about those business ideas forever; when are you going to start? The question you need to ask yourself to go forward is, “Am I taking action?” Some people spend several months just talking about developing themselves without actually ever taking action. You have been talking about taking your wife out for dinner, so when are you going to take action? Take action now.

Is there a step of faith that God wants you to take? Is there a sacrifice that God wants you to make? When are you going to take action spiritually? Every time God wants to make a man great, check the Bible; He asks him to take a step of faith. And sometimes because God wants you to take a step of faith, He removes everything you think you have so that you can walk on water. And by the time He is done with the temple, by the time the glory of the latter house surpasses the former, it will be evidently God’s work.

James 2:¹⁴ “What good is it, dear brothers and sisters if you say you have faith, but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? ¹⁵ Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, ¹⁶ and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? ¹⁷ So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds [action], it is dead and useless” [emphasis added].

Faith by itself is not enough; unless it produces good deeds, unless it produces action, it is dead and useless. Faith by itself is useless without action. Faith starts by profession but profession must match action for it to make sense. That is what the Word of God says.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, I ask for the grace to back up every step of faith with actions, in Jesus Name. Amen!
