Builder & Foundation
Hebrews 11:10 “For he was [waiting expectantly and confidently] looking forward to the city which has fixed and firm foundations, whose Architect and Builder is God.” (AMPC).
Mothers are amazing. They build the home, strengthen everything, and make things work. They can do ten things at a time, have you noticed? How do they do it? Men try to do three, and everything just keeps jamming.
Meanwhile, the woman is coordinating this and coordinating that, and everything is working seamlessly. That is why the Bible says in Proverbs 14:1 “A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.” The woman is the builder. You will build your home and not tear it down in Jesus Name. You will not be a foolish woman (say Amen). However, as important as mothers are in the family and they are completely indispensable. But the fathers are also so extremely important.
And because mothers are so important, some women question the usefulness of the man in the family. Some women erroneously feel they can do without a man. In an analysis of over a hundred studies of parent-child relationships, it was found that having a loving and nurturing father was as important for a child’s development (happiness, wellbeing, social, and academic success), as having a loving and nurturing mother. So, this thing of; I can do bad by myself, I don’t need a man, is a lie. Have you not noticed that the man may not talk much but the fact that he is present in a house brings unexplainable stability, everything is just sane.
A woman was sharing her story with me, and I told her to write down her story so that we can share it anonymously. Why? It is so that sense, common sense can enter some people’s heads. She had a lot of money, and she kicked her husband out. She said that it was a big mistake. She said the ‘I can do bad all by myself thing’ is a lie. Yes, she feeds herself and drives her own car, but she enters the house, and she said the place is just empty. The children are confused, and they have mental health challenges. Why? It is because that is how God has structured things.
I am sorry. The man may not be perfect, but his presence in the house alone is huge. Then God help you if he is a praying man. The woman is the builder, but the man is the foundation of the family. How solid that structure stands, depends, or rests on the foundation of a father. Some of us are familiar with what happened in the black communities in the U.S. The first thing they did to destroy that community was to get rid of the men. And they give the women welfare money to take care of the children. Without the foundation, what kind of structure can be built?
Prayer: Father, we pray for Christian homes today, that beyond the father and mother, You will be the architect and the builder of each home, in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
