But God!

2 Kings 4:1 “One day the widow of a member of the group of prophets came to Elisha and cried out, “My husband who served you is dead, and you know how he feared the Lord. But now a creditor has come, threatening to take my two sons as slaves.” (emphasis added).

Conspirators will seek you out. As we see in the story, not only did the conspirator (the creditor) seek this widow out, the creditor came threatening to take her sons as slaves. Meaning the woman will know her children are alive, but the children will probably be sold off to a far country.

So, she will live every day of her life, for the rest of her life in torture and torment. The devil is a bad devil, but God is a good God. Jesus says in John 10:10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (KJV). While the enemy has come to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus has come that we may have life and have it more abundantly.

The truth is that the conspirator is against you. But Pastor, you are telling me that this is one of the relationships I must have? Yes. Why? It is because it is the people that are against you, most times, that bring the best out of you. Sometimes, the people that are for you, the people on your side, are your safe place. Thank God for them. But it is the people that are against you, that put you on your toes, that make you spend hours on your knees, in prayer. It is the people who are against you, those who insist that you will not get that job, business or promotion, that force us to rise and be all that God planned for us to be.

It is the people who insist that it will not be well with your children, the people who are saying evil things against you, that force you to dig deep and become all that God has called you to be. So, we need to realize that we need the conspirators, even though we do not go fishing for them. We need them. Take Joseph’s brothers for instance, in Genesis 50:18-20Then his brothers came and threw themselves down before Joseph. “Look, we are your slaves!” they said. But Joseph replied, “Don’t be afraid of me. Am I God, that I can punish you? You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.” (emphasis added). You must realize that conspirators are conspirators. It is what it is.

But the dividing line is the will of the Father for your life. Jesus wants you to prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. But the enemy has a different plan for you. Anyone on the side of the enemy becomes a conspirator, an enemy. Anyone on God’s side becomes a friend.

Prayer: Father, help me to rightly discern the people in my life. Help me see the conspirators for who they are and help me focus on who You are, in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
