Promised Salvation

2 Timothy 2:13 “If we are faithless, He remains faithful [true to His word and His righteous character], for He cannot deny Himself.” (AMP)

God’s sixth guarantee for your future is To Keep You Saved Until Heaven! Wow! What a future, one that is secured in God. These are words to live by. God guarantees to keep you saved until heaven. You do not have to keep yourself saved. I remember years ago when I gave my life to Jesus, one of the things that bothered me was the possibility of backsliding one day. Then God showed me Jude 1:24 Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.” How does God present anyone as blameless? No one who walks this earth can be blameless by themselves. But God says He is able to present you blameless before His throne. That means the work of salvation will be achieved by Him and not by you. That is so huge!

John 10:28I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.” (NIV, emphasis added). Never means never! You may want to get out of or jump out of God’s hands, but God is not going to let you go. This same God has the whole universe in His hands; where do you want to jump to? You will NEVER be able to see the end of God’s love! The truth is that we do not write our futuristic stories. If I were to write my story, I would not write it the way it has played out. I would have written it in another way, in a more “beautiful” way, as far as I am concerned. But you see, God is in charge of your future and mine. You may lose the things that are precious to you, but what I am saying by God’s Word is that if you belong to Jesus, you cannot lose your salvation. Your salvation is secured by the Blood of Jesus.

2 Timothy 2:13 If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.” (NIV, emphasis added). Jesus paid for your sins—past, present, and future. It took me a while to really embrace this. What I used to struggle with was, will this not give people a license to sin? I have Pastor friends who know this truth because they are solid, but they will never preach it. And the reason is that they do not want to sound as if they are giving people a license to sin.

But I disagree. Instead, knowing this truth will set people free from the yoke of bondage and condemnation. In fact, if you know Jesus and you are seeing what He has done for you as a license to sin, it is questionable if you actually know Him. If you know Him, you are in awe and appreciate what He has done.

Prayer (song): Thank You, Thank You, Lord. Thank You, Lord, for everything You have done! Amen!
