The Only Way
Isaiah 50:10 “Who is among you who fears the Lord, Who obeys the voice of His Servant, Yet who walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust and be confident in the name of the Lord and let him rely on his God” (AMP)
A connection to Jesus is experienced firstly by Believing and Receiving. John 1:12 “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (NIV, emphasis added). A connection to Jesus begins by believing and receiving. John 10:9-10 “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” (NIV). So, if you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus, the gate is opening to you today. Believe Him and receive Him because only Jesus can save.
The second way to secure and deepen your connection with Jesus is Trusting and Obeying. What is God prodding you to do? Trust Him and obey Him. Who is God breathing upon your heart to forgive? Trust and obey. What has God led you to give? Trust and obey. In what direction has God led you to go? Trust and obey. For some, God has told you to stay and not go anywhere. Trust and obey, that is how to walk with and deepen your connection with God. I shared with you how after being friends for a few weeks, my friends said to me, “You make it look too easy”. And my response was, “I am not even struggling to make anything look easy or not. I am just following God, trusting and obeying.”
Is it God’s will for you to eat healthy? Trust and obey. Eat the vegetables, just eat healthy. Stop eating food that will kill your body. Is it God’s will for you to exercise? Trust and obey. Is it God’s will for you to do morning devotion? Trust and obey. Is it God’s will for you to pray and fast? Trust and obey. Has God’s voice spoken to you to take a step? Trust and obey. John 10:3-4 “…He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.” (NIV). If you do not know God’s voice, you cannot follow Him. You cannot obey a voice you do not know.
So, the first thing is to know God’s voice. Plug into the spiritual growth programs in your local church. Learn God’s voice. The more you obey God’s voice, the clearer God’s voice becomes to you. Strangely, there are people who know God’s voice but refuse to trust and obey God’s voice. I am praying in the Name of Jesus that you will not be one of such.
Prayer (hymn): …While we do His good will, He abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey. Amen!
