Journey To More

Proverbs 3:1-3 “Good friend, don’t forget all I’ve taught you; take to heart my commands. They’ll help you live a long, long time, a long life lived full and well. Don’t lose your grip on Love and Loyalty. Tie them around your neck; carve their initials on your heart.” (MSG)

We have been on an interesting journey with God and this journey has taken us through different twists and turns. Foundationally, we learnt that until you see yourself as God sees you, the truth is you cannot experience all that God has for you. Until we see ourselves the way God sees us, we cannot even begin to experience all that God has for us. Many people want to know the future, the direction their lives would go. If you want to know the future, the direction that your life is moving, look at the words that are coming out of your mouth. Your word is the steering wheel of your destiny. The words that you speak will steer your destiny in whatever direction you propel and project your words to.

The things that pertain to your destiny are within your reach. We cannot go through life wishing if only we can get a grasp of the things that pertain to our destiny. God showed us clearly in His Word that these things are within our reach. And that is huge! The next turn in our journey takes us into the story of Gideon. There we learn five things from Gideon’s story that release us into more. The first is an Honest Admittance Of Current Situation. To be more, you need to learn how to Navigate The Altars. Thirdly, to be leased into more, you have to be Robed With Power. And it is because every great work for God in your life must be done by the power of God through your life. Our fourth lesson was that for you to end up with more, you have to be Sifted To Soar. The fifth lesson was, you have to Get Up And Go.

Over the last few days, we have learnt that grit is so important. Grit is the number one determinant to success, not intelligence, not talent, not connections, not giftings. Intelligence is good, you should be intelligent. Talent is beautiful, connections are needed, and gifting is a plus, but grit is the number one determinant of success. Grit is the stubborn refusal to quit. Our next stop on this journey was to learn about the difference between kissers and cleavers. God’s heart is for us to go beyond the kiss and cleave. Cleavers always go beyond the kiss into the mix of destiny and greatness. While kissers may not be betrayers or fair-weather friends, they are in for what they can get. As soon as they conclude that there is nothing in your womb for them, there is no future, there is nothing they can benefit from. Kissers will kiss you goodbye.

The truth is that people do not abandon people they love, they abandon people they were using. They can give whatever excuse they want to give; they can sound very pious; they can sound very righteous. But they were using you. I pray that God will rid your life of kissers.

Prayer: Father, help me to embody these truths I have learnt so that I enter into the more you have made me for and called me to be in every area, in Jesus Name. Amen!
