Don’t Stop!
Isaiah 65:23 “They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth children for trouble; For they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the Lord, And their offspring with them.” (NKJV)
When you choose to pour your life out into people like Mr. Mufti, poured his life out. People will not always turn out the way you think they should. By God’s grace, I have been Pastoring for over two decades. When you pour yourself into people, they do not always come out the way you think they should. You are pouring yourself out and people are still gossiping. And you are wondering, what is going on here? Imagine Mr. Mufti hearing that the young man had backslidden. That was not what he was planning for. Jesus, that is the classic example of pouring your life out. He had a messy, muddled up situation. He was pouring into people and amongst His people, there was jealousy.
The fact that you are pouring it out, does not mean people will turn out the way you think they should. Many parents can attest to this. But at the end of the day, it will always lead to multiplication. So, just keep pouring out. Growing up, my mother was always pouring into us. And it did not seem like I was turning out good at the time. But by the grace of God, it always leads to multiplication. Jesus was pouring into His people, and they were playing politics. Some even brought their parent to politic. But Jesus did not stop pouring out. Some of you have children that you are pouring into, and they are doing their own thing. So, you are wondering if you have failed as a parent. No, you have not. Do not worry, just keep pouring it out. Do I get an Amen? Keep pouring it out. Is this child going to be wayward? No. Keep pouring it out. Is this child going to miss the mark? No. Keep pouring it out.
Jesus had a handful of people that He was pouring out into in His camp, and guess what? One of them betrayed Him. When we say one of them betrayed Jesus, most times that word does not carry the weight that it should. In the case of Jesus, the Judas actually sold Jesus. He went to the leading priests and negotiated for Jesus’ head. He said, “I can deliver this Jesus to you. How much is my pay?” They said, “We will give you thirty pieces of silver”. He said, “Okay, fine” and he sold Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. That is someone Jesus was pouring into for three and a half years non-stop. Wow! In that same group of people that Jesus was pouring into, there was someone who almost cut off another person’s head but chopped off the person’s ear.
These were the people Jesus was pouring into. Pouring out is always messy and muddled up but keep on pouring. Do I get an Amen? Keep on pouring. Jesus had to say to one of them, “Get thee behind me, satan”. Imagine that, but He did not stop pouring. Guess what? If it was muddy for Jesus, it is going to be muddy for you. If it was messy for Jesus, it is going to be messy for you. If it was not a straight line for Jesus, why are you expecting a straight line?
Prayer: Father, as I step out in obedience and pour into my children, work, ministry, and the people You bring my way, I will not labour in vain, in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
