iSurrender

Isaiah 64:8 “And yet, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand.”

For growth to happen, there is a God part and a man part. Firstly, God’s Part is He Invites, Our Part is We Respond. For someone reading this, God has been inviting you to grow. You have to take the invitation. Secondly, God’s Part is He Teaches, Our Part is We Learn. John 14:26But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and remind you of everything I have told you.” (CSB, emphasis added). God’s part is to teach us, and our part is to learn. Thirdly, God’s Part is He Transforms, Our Part is We Surrender. After God has invited you and you have responded. After God has taught and you have learnt. He seeks to transform you, and it requires you to surrender, like clay in the hands of the Potter.

Isaiah 45:9 “…Does a clay pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying, ‘Stop, you’re doing it wrong!’ Does the pot exclaim, ‘How clumsy can you be?’” The Potter can break down the clay and make it into a new vessel. You, as the clay in God’s hands, must remain soft, yielded, malleable, adaptable, and go where the Potter wants you to go. You must be willing to become whoever and whatever the Potter wants you to become. Surrender! For many of you, God is trying to transform you, but you are not surrendering. Some surrender a little bit, but when you see that it is tough, you take back your life. God is inviting you to surrender so that you can grow. Will you dare to grow today? Do you have the boldness to surrender to Jesus?

2 Peter 1:3By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life…”. When you surrender to God, you please Him. The Potter is pleased with the clay. He is pleased with the vessel that is made from the clay. Remember, we started by saying that we should be the very best that we can possibly be. But guess what? The very best thing that we can do, the very best legacy we can leave is for it to be said of us, he pleased God. He loved the Lord, his God, with all his heart, with all his soul, with all his mind. He loved his Father with everything he had. That is the greatest thing. And it can only happen when we yield to His invitation. We learn as He teaches us. And we surrender as He transforms us.

God is inviting you; it is your turn to respond, and only you can. For some reading this today, God is teaching you, only you can learn. Yet for some, God wants to transform you, only you can surrender. If you want to give your life to Jesus, you need to respond to God.

Prayer: Father, I say yes to Your invitation, tutoring, and transformation, in Jesus Name. Amen!
