Kingdom Distractions, I

1 Corinthians 7:35 “…do whatever will help you serve the Lord best, with as few distractions as possible.” (emphasis added).

Why? Luke 9:62Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God.” Sadly, people have walked away from the place of their assignment and purpose, for whatever reason, but definitely not God. So, they are just wasting their lives and resources in their own “preferred” place. Pastor Eskor Mfon says, “There is “A Work”, and there is, “The Work”. Satan does not mind you doing good things, as long as you are not doing great things. The devil does not mind you doing good things, as long as you are distracted from God’s agenda for you. I pray that for everyone who has been distracted from God’s agenda for them, heaven will realign in the Name of Jesus.

There are a couple of Kingdom distractions. For instance, the number one distraction from The Kingdom is Politics. And it is becoming more and more prevalent in many nations. The truth is that God has not called us to save Nigeria, for instance. God has called us to save Nigerians. God has not called us to save America. God has called us to save Americans. God has not called us to save South Africa. God has called us to save South Africans.  God has not called us to save Costa Rica. God has called us to save Costa Ricans. God has not called us to save Canada. God has called us to save Canadians. Big difference! If you do not understand this, you would want to save the nation, and end up getting distracted. They said to Jesus several times, “We have waited for a king who will come and save Israel. You will come and save Israel, is it time?”

The second distraction from The Kingdom is Current Controversies. There are always controversies on social media. Weekly, sometimes daily controversies—this person did this, that person did that, and everybody is chiming in. You do not have time for it. Simple, if you want to engage your life, and want your life to be useful, you must desist from those things. Why? Simple litmus test—will this matter ten years from now? This thing you are breaking your head for, will it matter fifty years from now? Will it really matter a hundred years from now?

The third distraction is Comparing. This church is bigger than that church. Interestingly, Christians still do this. You need to stop it. Stay on your lane. God’s Favourite House does not want to be like any other church. We are not interested. God bless all the churches. Thank God for what they are doing. We can only do what God has called us to do. We are the only ones that can do what God has called us to do, the way God has called us to do it!

Prayer: Father, I adopt Your Kingdom Agenda, and I abandon every Kingdom distraction, in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
