Ruminate
Deuteronomy 4:39 “So remember this and keep it firmly in mind: The Lord is God both in heaven and on earth, and there is no other.”
The Book of Deuteronomy is literally dedicated to God telling His people to remember and never to forget. Deuteronomy means second law or repeated law. It is the book of the Law that is repeated so that people can remember. And it is filled with a lot of Remember. Deuteronomy was given just before God’s people were about to enter the Promised Land. God speaking through Moses was saying remember. “…Remember, it is Me who… I am your God, remember…”. Why would God pay so much attention to remembering? It is because we are creatures of forgetfulness, we forget. God is saying, do not forget!
As a people, God is saying to us, do not forget where I took you from. Do not forget all the battles I took you through. Do not forget all the victories I won for you. Do not forget. The reason people get discouraged is because they forget. Do not forget all the God Will Do It Again services. Do not forget all the souls that were saved. Do not forget all the people that were healed. Do not forget! As life is happening to us, and like the Gen-Z’s would say, as life is “life-ing”, we tend to forget. Beginning today, we are going to look at five things we forget, but we ought not to forget, from the Book of Deuteronomy. Are you ready?
Firstly, We Forget God’s Wisdom. How often do we forget God’s wisdom? Deuteronomy 32:7 “Remember the days of long ago; think about the generations past. Ask your father, and he will inform you. Inquire of your elders, and they will tell you.” Tell you what? They will tell you about the wisdom of God. They will tell you about how God in His wisdom made the heavens and the earth. They will tell you about how God in His wisdom chose Abraham. They will tell you about how God in His wisdom created the nations. They will tell you about how God in His wisdom came through the nation of Israel in person. They will tell you about how God in His wisdom died on the cross and rose again, and in His wisdom created a Church that is universal. And in wisdom, He is having a family of every tribe, every tongue, and every nation.
When we forget about God’s wisdom, one of the things that happens is we worry. We worry because we forget God’s wisdom. What are you facing? Are you battling an impossible situation that appears like you are fruitless? I pray that you will become fruitful, in the Name of Jesus, in every area of your life. This is the month of fruitfulness. I pray you will become fruitful in your finances, your body, your mind, your relationships, your spirit, and in every area of your life.
Prayer: Father, I remember and meditate on Your wisdom, in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
