Who Are We?

Revelations 5:9 “With your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and every language and every people and every nation!” (NIV).

Who are we? This is the question of identity, and it is a question we need to settle. We will spend time over the next few days answering this question. As a people, our Vision is “To be filled with the life of Christ Jesus and released into our destinies, taking the world for Him.” That is what we are about. To be filled, not with the philosophies of men but with the life of Christ Jesus. God has an amazing destiny for you and God will release you into that glorious destiny in the Name of Jesus. As God is releasing you into that glorious destiny, the objective is for you to take the world for Jesus. And by the grace of God, that is expressed by our people – from the family to the street, to the workplace, and to the marketplace.

We are taking the world for Him! We have one mission, and it is Changed Lives. When people come in contact with God’s grace upon us, their lives change. That is who we are, and we must remember and not forget that. For someone reading this today, God is speaking specifically saying to you in Isaiah 46:4I will be your God throughout your lifetime— until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.” Maybe you are in a place where you are doubting, or unsure if God is on your side anymore. God wants you to know that He will be your God, not just when things are good or things are bad, but throughout your lifetime until your hair is white with age. I receive that, in the Name of Jesus and I hope you receive it. God says He made you and He will be with you. God is saying to you today that He would care for you, carry you along and save you. Just take a few minutes to let that sink in.

Different things attempt to pull us in different directions. Different things attempt to challenge us and make us pitch our tent in different locations. As a people, our maxim is: in the essentials we have unity, in the nonessentials we have liberty, and in all things we show love. In the essentials we have unity. Ephesians 4:4-6For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all.” (emphasis added). We do not get dragged into the conversation of, I am Anglican, I am Methodist, I am Pentecostal, or I am Baptist. In the essentials we have unity.

Prayer: Father, I am who You say I am. I am part of God’s family created to do the things He planned for me long ago, to bring glory to His Holy Name, in Jesus Name. Amen!
