Get Involved

Psalms 92:12&15 “…Look how you’ve made all your devoted lovers to flourish like palm trees, each one growing in victory, standing with strength! Listen to them! With pleasure they still proclaim: “You’re so good! You’re my beautiful strength! You’ve never made a mistake with me.” (TPT).

We often get it twisted because we have this concept of going to church. You often hear yourself and others say, I am going to church, or that is my church, or I am a worker in my church. Listen, you are the church. God’s highest calling for you was never just going to church. God’s heart desire was never that you will just attend a church. Therefore, going to church is not enough, you have to start being the church. Who are we? We are the church! So, we have to start being the church. You can go to church without being the church. I mean think about it, a lot of people go to church without being the church.

But you cannot be the church without going to church. Even though going to church does not make you the church. It equips you and empowers you to be the church. A church is not a place that you visit. A church is a people that you belong to. The church is not a building. The church is not structure. The church is people. So, you have to become involved in church wherever you are. Be involved in your church. How? By serving your church, by giving, and by joining a small group (a life group, a department, or a unit). These three things (serving, giving, joining a small group), integrates you into the church’s life stream.

Psalm 92:12 But the godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon.” (emphasis added). In the Name of Jesus of Nazareth, you will flourish like a palm tree and grow strong like cedars of Lebanon. Psalm 92:13 For they are planted in the Lord’s own house. They flourish in the courts of our God.” (emphasis added). They are planted, they do not just visit the Lord’s house. Some people are visiting the Lord’s house. They are not planted in the Lord’s house. To flourish, you need to be planted in the Lord’s house. Psalm 92:14Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green.” (emphasis added). You will still produce fruits in old age, in the Name of Jesus. You will remain vital and green.

Psalm 92:15 “They will declare, “The Lord is just! He is my rock! There is no evil in him!””. I pray, in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, that at the end of your life (in the evening of your life), you will look back and you will say, “The Lord is just! He is my rock! There is no evil in Him! Both palm trees and cedars are evergreen. Evergreen meaning, they are consistently thriving and producing life year round. While other trees wither during certain seasons, palm trees and cedars flourish through the year regardless of the weather.

Prayer: Father, as I daily take on the mantle of being the church, help me, in Jesus Name. Amen!
