Seed To Plant

2 Corinthians 9:10 “And [God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness [which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity].” (AMPC)

A Seed Has No Power Until It Is Planted. And there is a seed for every need. You are looking for a job. You show up, you have the right credentials, and you look nice. But you open your mouth, and the panel wants to disappear. There are things God will not do for you, my brother, my sister. You can brush your teeth. Interestingly, increasingly it is ladies’ mouths smell a lot these days. It used to be men, but now ladies too. They open their mouth and boom, it’s all over. As a Pastor, you have to make allowance for people. In such scenarios, I just lean back like I am praying, or I look away. You can actually brush your teeth. You can comb your hair. You can actually put on perfume to help you smell nice, that is if you need it.

Isaiah 28:24&26 Does a farmer always plow and never plant? Is he forever cultivating his soil but never planting it? No! …The farmer knows just what to do, for God has given him understanding.” I pray that God will give you understanding; you will stop just ploughing and ploughing, and plant instead. Some people pray, pray, pray, plough, plough, plough, but they never plant anything. They do not plant anything in behaviour, in speech, in good character, or in giving. They just keep ploughing. You need understanding and God will give it to you today in the Name of Jesus. Why? It is because planting any kind of seed is an act of faith. Farmers are some of the biggest faith people ever, because they plant their seed, and they believe it will grow.

How do they know? They just know that inherent in the seed is the plant they desire. Giving is an act of faith. Tithing is an act of faith. You cannot tithe if you do not have faith. You must have faith (believe) that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. If not, you will never plant. Planting is for the “faith-fulls”, people who are full of faith. I remember years ago, when God’s Favouite House was starting, I emptied my bank account and my life savings. And it could only pay for two services at the then Protea Hotel. To show you how much I had. But it was like seed money into God’s Kingdom. What was going to happen next? I did not know.

Planting any kind of seed is an act of faith. You must take the step. What is the need in your life? Whenever I have a need, I plant a seed. Locate the seed for your need, and plant it. Think about the biggest need you have in your life right now. God is saying there is a seed for that need. You have to be the one to plant that seed. God will not do that for you. But when you plant the seed, in time, God will bring about the harvest in the Name of Jesus.

Prayer: Father, give me understanding and open my eyes to my seed, in Jesus Name. Amen!
