Nine & Ten
Psalm 126:5-6 “Those who walk the fields to sow, casting their seed in tears, will one day tread those same long rows, amazed by what’s appeared. Those who weep as they walk and plant with sighs Will return singing with joy, when they bring home the harvest.” (The Voice)
The Nineth law of planting is You Should Always Be Planting (Good Seeds). You can call it the law of continuity or consistency. Ecclesiastes 11:4 “Those who wait for perfect weather will never plant seeds; those who look at every cloud will never harvest crops.” (NCV, emphasis added). If you are waiting for perfect conditions, you will never plant any seed. If you are looking at every cloud, you will never reap the harvest. The Living Bible translation says, “If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done.” So, just keep planting. In the morning, plant. In the afternoon, keep planting. Perfectionism paralyzes potential.
If you want to be perfect before you even deploy your potential, you will never be all that God has called you to be. If you want to be perfect before you shoot your first video or put up your first website, you will never become the global leader that God has called you to be. In fact, Google Facebook’s first website. Not so great. But look at Facebook, Google Twitter’s first website, and Microsoft’s first website today. But they started anyway, put it out there, and they kept improving and improving their craft. Stop waiting for perfect conditions. Keep on sowing. Keep on working. Keep on planting. And boom, your harvest will be overwhelming in Jesus Name.
Keep on planting good seeds. Ecclesiastes 11:6 “Do your planting in the morning AND in the evening, too. You never know whether it will all grow well or whether one planting will do better than the other.” (GNT, emphasis added). But guess what? Even though this was stated in the Old Testament, the principle remains. However, for us, every good seed will do well in the Name of Jesus. They may do better than each other, but they will all do well in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
The Tenth law of planting is While Waiting For Your Harvest, You Must Be Patient And Not Give Up. Galatians 6:9 “We must not become tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time IF we do not give up.” (NCV, emphasis added). You will not give up in the Name of Jesus. Everything that is making you tired, God will remove. God will strengthen you. You will have more strength to keep going in the Name of Jesus. You may not be able to do anything about your last year’s harvest, or about the harvest of the years past. But you can start planting good seeds today because everything starts as a seed. And a seed has no power until it is planted. So, you have to plant it.
Prayer: Father, empower me to always be planting and give me the grace to be patient and not give up while I trust God for my harvest, in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen!
