Mental
2 Corinthians 10:4 “We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.”
Yesterday, we looked at social, relational, developmental, career, and financial strongholds. Apart from having a financial capacity cap, another way that financial strongholds manifest is that people have challenges receiving. I know someone who feels very uncomfortable when people give him things. He does not like receiving so he is limited financially. I had to say to him, “Listen, God wants you to know how to receive because God wants to take you to places where your own strength cannot take you to”. Something must have happened that scarred or traumatized him. Giving caps also exist. Some people can give to a certain level. But when God wants to take them higher, they panic and are not able to handle it.
You are earning a million a month, you give your tithe without even thinking about it. God sees you and increases your earnings to three million a month. You give your tithe, but you are thinking about it. God increases your earnings to fifteen million a month. And you are like, “Wait a minute! This tithe of a thing, what is going on here?” The devil is playing tricks on you. What has worked for you from one million to three million to fifteen million? Why must you punctuate it? Why not set yourself free, let God be God, and let God do what only He can do? Personally, I have had to deal with those giving caps. When God required me to give beyond a certain level, I had to break that giving cap. And I pray that you break every giving limitation, receiving limitation, and financial capacity limitation in the Name of Jesus.
For some people it is a vision stronghold, they cannot see past a certain level. Beginning today, your vision will be clear, your vision will be far, and your vision will be accurate in Jesus Name. The nature of these mental strongholds that we have to pay attention to, the Bible calls them human reasoning. Human reasoning means it makes sense. The position you are taking actually makes sense, you have reasoned it out. Guess what? It has become a stronghold. Sometimes, God wants folks to take a step outside of their reasoning, but that stronghold of human reasoning holds them down. Sometimes, these strongholds are false arguments. Have you witnessed people you love and respect support things that are clearly negative, and you are wondering if you are looking at the same thing? Even though they are good people, when you listen to them it is like they are blinded by it. Proud pretension, rebellious thoughts—that is the nature of the mental strongholds.
Prayer: Father, by faith I use God’s mighty weapons to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments I have accepted, in Jesus Name. Amen!
