Season Of Response I
‘…We realize that we have sinned, but now we are ready to enter the land …It won’t work. Do not go… You will only be crushed …because the LORD is not with you’ Num.14:40-42
With God, there is season of response for every instruction He gives you. One of the dangers of being afraid is that fear can cause you to miss the timing of God. The fact that God has said you should do something does not mean that door will remain open for ever. If you miss the season of response, you may go back to attempt the assignment and fail. In the scripture reference above, Moses understanding this principle did not even need to pray. He knew that the children of Israel had missed God’s season of response. Season of response is not only limited to instructions alone, it also applies to promises. You do not deal with fear with stubbornness; it will get you into trouble. ‘…by strength shall no man prevail’ When God gives you an instruction, do not take it for granted. People will accuse you of wanting to do the things of God with urgency. The truth is, that is the wise thing to do. The fact that God has asked you to do it today does not mean He will send you tomorrow. You must approach the task with urgency because with or without your cooperation God will still take that territory. If God assigns you a territory, give it your all until you claim it for God. God can replace anyone suddenly and no one will remember that the person ever existed. Don’t you understand that? Only those who truly understand this, attack God’s instructions with the urgency it deserves. If He has given you a territory to take, it is for your sake not His. So when God says move, you abandon your plans and pursue His purposes. When you decide that your plans are more important than God’s purposes, guess what God will replace you. Are you ready to watch another person take the territory that God had initially assigned to you? Can your eyes and heart take it? The things of the Kingdom require immediate attention. Your unwillingness cannot grind God’s plans to a halt. What happens if you decide to do it in your time and He is no longer interested? If God has called you to do something for Him, do it now.
Prayer: Father, teach me to attend to the instructions You will give me with the urgency that the Kingdom requires. Help me flush out every attitude of procrastination, in Jesus Name
