Face To Face III

‘Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received… Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress’ 1 Timothy 4:14-15

Where have I been lazy and how can I change? This also ties into wasting time at work, doing everything else but the work you are being paid to do. Some people actually steal into their cars during office hours for a nap, then come and pretend to be busy. And as soon as it is lunch time, they are off again. You need to restitute for being lazy. Every father has a priestly responsibility over his family. You have to pray for your wife and your children. Your prayers form a covering over your family. When laziness keeps you from doing this then you are leaving them open to attacks. Parents pray for your children. If you have not been doing this, you are lazy and you need to change. A pastor who does not pray for his flock is lazy. ‘Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way’1 Samuel 12:23 (KJV). Your laziness is causing you to sin against God by not acting in the capacity for which He has called you. You are responsible for your flock and God will hold you accountable. Whom have I neglected and what does restitution require? Have you been neglecting to spend quality time with your children? How busy are you really; what can be more valuable to you than your family? Do you know that Obama, the president of the United States, shuts down everything he is doing to have dinner with his family at 6:30pm daily? Except there is a national emergency. Are you neglecting to talk to your wife? Every time she needs someone to talk to you are not there. We are made for community; she will soon start to talking to someone else. And then you will have a greater problem on your hands. On the other hand, some wives also totally neglect their husbands and their wifely duties. Even when they have to serve their husband food, they do it so shabbily. For others, it is the gift of God, the supernatural things that God has put on the inside of them that they are neglecting. It is foolishness to abandon the gifts of God and chase after wealth alone. It should not be either or. Make up your mind to restitute today.

Prayer: Father, how have I abandoned your purposes  in my home, my job and in my service to You for my own agenda? I repent of it today and I ask that You show me how I can put things right, in Jesus Name
