Your Destiny

David continued to succeed in everything he did, for the Lord was with him. When Saul recognized this, he became even more afraid of him’ 1 Sam.18:14-15.

You need to understand that the level of attack on your destiny is an indication of the greatness of your destiny. The level of struggle you go through particularly when you are doing all that God expects you to do is a pointer to the greatness that is set before you. Some people lose their jobs for no reason, sometimes it is out of envy from another person or the fear of what they would become. But guess what you would become all that God has called you to be by His grace alone. For some of us God allows us to taste the depth of what people would do to us out of fear for what we can become so that it can better shape us for where God is taking us.

Some guy said that he consistently heard the enemy tell him how useless he is and how there was nothing good in his future. How he will never get married and never prosper. So one day while this was going on, a thought popped up in his head. If he was so useless and nothing good was going to come out of his life then why won’t the enemy just leave him alone? Why was the enemy so bothered with him any way? This might sound hilarious but it is the reality a lot of people are faced with. I still experience the enemy telling me that the tongues I am speaking is fake. If it is fake then leave me alone.

Saul became even more afraid of him, and he remained David’s enemy for the rest of his life’ 1 Sam.18:29. Listen very carefully, some people will never be your friend until you see Jesus. Get used to it! The Bible says, ‘as much as it lies in your power be at peace with all men’. In other words, some things don’t lie within your power. Just get used to it and be comfortable in the skin of favour that God has put you in. David succeeded in everything he did because the Lord was with him. This first generated fear in Saul and then Saul chose to remain David’s enemy. Meaning there was no way David could ever be at peace with Saul. Meanwhile David was just a shepherd boy but the fear of what he could become drove a wedge between him and Saul.

Prayer: Lord, hide me in Your secret place away from the devices of the crafty. Let their hands never be able to perform their enterprise against me, in Jesus Name.
