Your Inheritance!
‘Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance’ Heb.6:12.
The Bible says ‘blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth’. There is a land before you that you are not being patient about it. Guess what? There are other people that are willing to be patient with that land. And guess who will inherit the land? Blessed are the meek [the patient] for they will inherit the land. It is the doers of the Word that enjoy the blessings that are attached. A lot of married couples are not willing to be patient with their spouse. You find people complaining repeatedly that their spouse is not paying them the attention that they want. And when you dig deeper you will discover that it is just simply a case of no patience. Where’s patience? Where’s meekness? God is saying blessed are the meek, blessed are those that suffer long. There was this really good guy who used to attend our house fellowship back in the day. Even though we did not know the circumstances under which he met his wife but all we knew was that they were married. Yet for some strange reason as soon as they got married the guy went through some amazingly difficult times. Interestingly, the girl came from a wealthy home and she told her husband at the time that when he is ready to take care of a woman she would be in her father’s house. And she packed up her stuff and exited the marriage. Their marriage was not up to two years. And of course you can imagine the excruciating pain the guy went through. So the bulk fell on us as his pastors at the time to provide him support and encouragement. We told him suicide was not an option and encouraged him to trust God and be patient. Years passed and the guy’s fortune turned around. He’s doing very well and by the way he has a new wife! This new wife had been watching all that happened. She came in, provided all the necessary support he needed, and went through all the stress with him. And they got married. I know people will oppose his new marriage but when we get to heaven we’ll know if it was right or wrong. God has placed land before us but only the patient; only the meek will inherit the land.
Prayer: Father, purge me completely of impatience and grow me in meekness so that I will inherit the land You have placed before me, in Jesus Name.
