Blessedness of Mourning II

‘Blessed and enviably happy [with a happiness produced by the experience of God’s favour and especially conditioned by the revelation of His matchless grace] are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted!’ Matt.5:4 [AMP]

Grieving births rejoicing. It is difficult to enjoy and value and be really grateful for wealth if you have not tasted poverty. People of God, I have tasted poverty a little, I cannot claim to have tasted a lot and I have tasted wealth a little, I cannot claim to have tasted a lot. But I know that one is better than the other. Don’t be deceived by people who tell you that you should not trust God for wealth. Let them taste poverty and their opinions will change totally. I do not dispute that there have been abuses of prosperity teachings. My friends that are Pastors outside of the country accuse Nigerian Pastors of always praying for prosperity or praying against demons. I tell them that it is because they don’t know that there is something called ‘remote control’. Yet in spite of the devices of the enemy, we do not make the devil our focus but we will pray. I am praying for everyone reading this devotional today that is under the influence of the devil, in the Name of Jesus I command the influences to be broken now. And everyone that has been struggling under the weight of poverty, you will walk into your wealthy place in the Name of Jesus.

When we do not know how to grieve or repress grief, there is something in us that becomes unreleased emotionally and leads to anger, resentment, addiction, numbing habits, lack of peace, and unending criticism of others. Such people are mostly unhappy people in their core. Check, there are cases like that, when you trace it there was a major loss and they did not really grieve. They denied it and suppressed it, perhaps the loss of a loved one. Or they refused to come out of grieving, which was the problem with Jacob when Joseph was sold. Jacob said I would grieve until I go to meet with my fathers in the grave. He never let go of Joseph because there was no closure. So Jacob was in a perpetual state of grieving. If you are reading this and you are in a perpetual state of grieving, I am praying today that that hold will be broken over you in Jesus name.

Prayer: Father, let every grief that I have experienced birth unquenchable rejoicing in my life, in Jesus Name.
