Genesis 13:18 “So Abram moved his tents and went to live near the great trees of Mamre at the city of Hebron. There he built an altar to the LORD.” (NCV)
If there is something that we must learn, something that should have stood out to us about Caleb from our lessons so far, it is the fact that no matter what we are believing God for, we need to have a long-term view of waiting on God to fulfil His promises. We need to play the long game when it comes to the promises of God. We need to be there for the long haul. And when the time is right, we need to move forward boldly. Why Hebron? It was not just because Abraham lived in Hebron for many years according to Genesis 13:18. Hebron was so important because Caleb needed to prove a point. Those were the giants that harassed the people of God out of their promised land, so Caleb demanded for that particular mountain.
I am hoping and praying that God will birth in us such a hunger to begin to seek Him based on the truths we have learnt over the past few weeks and what we will learn over the next few days. I pray that it will drive us to a place where we will not back down until we become all that God has called us and created us to be. Our vision in God’s Favourite House is to be filled with the life of Christ Jesus and released into our destinies, taking the world for Him. To be filled with the life of Christ Jesus starts with coming to know Jesus, then being filled with who He is and desiring all of Him. The second part of the vision, released into our destinies, is what this season is all about. It is all about being released into that destiny that God has for you.
There is a mountain of provision, a mountain of fruitfulness, a mountain of promise. To be released into our destinies is all about the mountain of promise. What has God promised you? Then the third part, taking the world for Him, deals with the mountain of influence. But it all starts with being filled with the life of Christ Jesus, then taking the mountain of promise, so that we can take the mountain of influence. The book The Seven Mountains of Influence by Bronwyn O’Brien has really influenced what we will be learning for the next few days. It is a recommended read, and I encourage you to get the book and read it. There are so many things that you will not be able to shake off. When I read these kinds of books, I am thanking God that there is more. And I am turning and wrestling and telling God I need to press into this ‘more’ in Him.
Taking the world for Him is all about the Kingdom. The phrase Kingdom of God or Kingdom of Heaven was used ninety-eight times in the New Testament. And seventy-seven of those ninety-eight times, it was used by Jesus. Jesus came to preach the gospel of the Kingdom.
Prayer: Father, thank You for more in You, help me enter into this ‘more’, in Jesus Name. Amen!
