God’s Kind

1 Corinthians 13:4 “Love is large and incredibly patient. Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. It refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else. Love does not brag about one’s achievements nor inflate its own importance.” (TPT).

1 Corinthians 13:2 If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.”

Praise God for visions, but they are nothing if you cannot show love to the people Jesus died for. Spiritual gifts should not be tools of oppression, they are gifts of service. ‘God has shown me something about you, but I cannot tell you yet’. Have you heard that before? Tools of manipulation. Please carry your vision and move. It has already been revealed concerning me there is no misfortune in store for me. God’s plans for me are of good, and not of evil, to give me a hope and a future. Say to the righteous it shall be well with you. That is what God has said. Go and drink water on that your prophecy.

God says in 1 Corinthians 13:3If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.” So, what is this love, the God kind of love? 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.” If there is one thing you take out of devotion today, let it be that the God kind of love is patient and kind. Love is not mean-spirited. Love is kind. The God kind of love that God wants to be released in your family is kind and patient.

Love is not jealous, boastful, proud, or rude. A lot can be said about being rude. For some people, their natural state of engagement is to be rude. Little wonder because of the families that they grew up in. Do you know that in certain cultures, if you want to learn the language, the first thing you learn is the greeting and abuses? Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable. You are seated, reading a book and your spouse walks in. And the first thing you do is bark insults at your spouse. Take it easy, love is not irritable.

Love keeps no record of being wronged. You know the classic record keeper; that was what you did in 1982 on the 5th of November, 3:33 pm precisely. You repeated the same thing in 1992, then the same thing in 2012. And now in 2022, you want to… No, love keeps no record of wrong. It is impossible to do this love thing in God’s way and go wrong. Some people say that if you love anybody like that, they will take you for granted. They may, but God will prevail.

Prayer: Father, please flood my heart with the God kind of love so that all my actions will be rooted in and flow from the God kind of love, in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen!
