God’s Agenda

Isaiah 53:5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” (NKJV)

There are three main enemies of fitness. The first is Disease, the second is Stress and the third is Laziness. I trust that the Holy Spirit will open your mind to these things as we unpack them, in the Name of Jesus. The first enemy of fitness is Disease (sickness).

If someone is ill, the person cannot be fit. He or she cannot do things at optimal levels, cannot endure or deploy strength. For some people, the illness is not their fault. Some illnesses are generational, they have been passed down from great-grandparents to grandparents, to parents, and then to the children. Sometimes, it is a result of the person’s genetic makeup. It is not their fault that they eat little yet become so big. Meanwhile, some other people eat a lot and remain slim.

It is important to note the fact that someone is slim does not mean that the person is fit. The fact that someone is big does not mean the person is unfit. Some big people are actually more fit than their slimmer counterparts. So, being healthy is a big deal to God. Being healthy is huge on God’s agenda for you and your life. And it is because without being fit and healthy, you cannot fulfil all that God has for you. For you to fulfil all that God has for you, it is in God’s interest that you are healthy and fit. That is why God will put the tree of life in a garden. Every garden has a tree of life and a tree of the knowledge of good and evil (the tree of death). The more you eat of the tree of life, the more life you are exposed to, and life is released into you. Every life, every situation, every lifestyle, every home, has a tree of life and a tree of death.

Every kitchen has a tree of life and the potential for a tree of the knowledge of good and evil. How you harness it is what determines what you get. Your health and your fitness are big on God’s agenda. Think about it, if it was just to save us for eternity, Jesus could have just gone to the cross to shed His blood. But instead, He went through the path where He was flogged mercilessly, and His body was torn and shredded. Do you know why Jesus went through the shredding? It is so that by His wounds (stripes), we can be healed. Jesus did not have to get His body shredded. But it is not just salvation for eternity. He wants your body healed here and now, so He was wounded for our transgressions. The chastisement that brought us peace was upon Him, by His wounds we were healed. So regardless of what the source of the disease is, it could be transgenerational, or something you picked up by yourself. Listen, Jesus died so that you can be healed. Jesus was shredded, and His body was broken for you so you can be healed.

Prayer:  Father, I thank You because Your plans for me are plans for good and not for disaster, to give me a future and hope, to keep me in health, in Jesus Name. Amen!
