Deliberate Leading

“You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” Gen.3:4-5.

Everyone that will fulfill his or her destiny in God and the greatness that God has for him/her must overcome the spirit of seduction. Please note that today’s devotional has an 18PG rating. The dictionary defines seduction as the process of deliberately enticing a person in order to lead him/her astray sexually. Seduction is a process and the process of seduction starts with flirting. Flirting is any act that stimulates or is intended to stimulate sexual desire [playing, jesting, joking, dressing, talking, etc.]. For example, a young man goes to his married female colleague and deliberately starts staring at her fingers. When she asks what he is staring at, he instantly asks for permission to kiss her beautiful fingers. So she thrusts her hand forward and he kisses her fingers. After all it’s not a sin or is it? – she did not sleep with him. He goes away a happy man and the married woman starts to think about how her husband doesn’t appreciate her this much. The next day when she is dressing up to go to work, all she can think about is will her male colleague like what she is wearing or the colour of her nails today? And before you know it something that started ‘innocently’ leads to something that everybody is wondering how it happened. There is no seduction without flirting. Flirting is the starting point of seduction. So people flirt, seduce, and are seduced. It is often said that someone fell into sexual sin. I disagree. People do not fall into sexual sin. People walk into sexual sin. As soon as she allowed him kiss her fingers, it stirred up something in her, and trouble began. You need to be aware of the things that attract the opposite sex. Men are attracted or stimulated by sight or touch. Women are more complex but their attraction can be summarized into one word – power [physical power, political power, vocal power, intellectual power, financial power, etc.]. Women don’t just love money; it is the power it provides that they love. That is why the gift of free calls at midnight has caused so much defilement in people. Women just want to listen to the voice of a man who affirms them and they open their lives to defilement.

Prayer:  Lord Jesus, help me live according to Your Word so that I will stay on the path of purity, in Jesus Name.
