Five, Six
Ephesians 1:5 “God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.”
Thank God for His Word to us at Easter. Indeed, because you have set The Lion of the tribe of Judah before your face, and He is always at your right hand, you cannot be moved or shaken.
Declare it, “I have set The Lord before me, and because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken”. Declare again, “This same Jesus is before me, this same Jesus is at my right hand, I will not be shaken!” And so shall it be in Jesus Name. Amen!
Today, we will continue our study of the nine different rewards that God promises us if we learn to be generous. So far, we have looked at five. Number one, God Promises Good Things Will Happen To You. Number two, God Promises Your Children Will Be Blessed. Number three, God Promises He Will Bless Your Work & Business. Number four, God Promises You Will Be Happier. And number five, God Promises Your Influence Will Increase. Proverbs 11:24 “The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller.” (MSG, emphasis added). How did God win us over? God won us over by giving us His Son. He gave for the greatest need of humanity. And now we love Him because He first loved us. How did He love us? He loved us by giving to us.
Boy meets girl. Boy is stingy. Boy does not buy anything for girl. Boy does not love girl. Love gives. Gifts open doors. The people who are corrupt use this to their advantage. Gifts open doors, that is how God sets things up. I can tell you stories upon stories about my life. By God’s grace, I give from a good place. But the principle works for me, the doors open. People want to be my friend even when I do not necessarily want to be their friend, at least at that time. But when I need to call upon them, they are always very happy to help. God promises my influence will increase when I am generous.
The sixth of nine rewards: God Promises You Will End Up With More. Generosity always leads to more. Jesus speaking in Luke 6:38 “Give, and you will receive. You will be given much. Pressed down, shaken together, and running over, it will spill into your lap. The way you give to others is the way God will give to you.” (NCV). These are Words to live by!
Prayer: Father, as I live by Your Word and give generously, increase my influence, and cause me to end up with much more, in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen!
