Where Have You Been?
‘I’ve perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. Come, let’s drink our fill of love until morning. Let’s enjoy each other’s caresses, for my husband is not home. He’s away on a long trip’ Prov.7:17-19.
The third lesson from Proverbs 7 is ,she promised secrecy. Every seduction works because secrecy is promised. Like I say, you are not a thief until you are able to steal and no one will find out; but you still refuse to steal. A lot of people will steal if they are sure that no one will find out. A lot of people will commit adultery if they are 100% sure that no one will find out. That was what the lady promised ‘no one would know my husband has gone on a journey’. If you are committing adultery, I have news for you, people already know. The man said ‘while I was at the window of my house, looking through the curtain, I saw some naive young men, and one in particular who lacked common sense’ Prov.7:6-7. You think it is done in secrecy but everybody knows;, they are just being civil. Everybody knows where you have been.
People don’t only know physically, spiritually too, the Holy Ghost knows. The Holy Ghost is an amazing Spirit; He reveals secrets. You will pass by somebody and you think they don’t know where you have been. But the Holy Ghost will say to them- see this person they have been to ‘A & B’ and they have done ‘C & D’. I have seen this happen many times. You might think it is a secret but the person who is beside you already knows. They already know! A lady once walked into my office, married woman with two children. Immediately she sat down in front of me, she excused herself and ran out. She repeated this three or four times and then came back crying. Of course I had been wondering what was happening so I asked her why she was crying. She said she was coming from committing adultery but when she entered my office her body began to itch her. She thought it was a coincidence so she ran out and she had some relief. But as soon as she came back it started again and so she needed to confess. God did not tell me so I did not even know. The key thing is never ever think that it is a secret. If you think it is a secret, the devil has succeeded in snaring you. If you know everything is in the open, it will help you.
Prayer: ‘Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect Your decrees! Then I will not be ashamed when I compare my life with Your commands’ Ps.119:5-6, in Jesus Name.
