Get Busy!

‘Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground’ Gen.1:28

God said to Adam and Eve ‘be fruitful and multiply’. In other words, get busy! How can you be fruitful? Get busy! Sadly Adam and Eve did not act on that instruction on time. I am sure you are wondering how I know. Well, they did not get busy until Genesis chapter four. Perhaps if they had acted immediately instead of hanging around the tree talking to the serpent, a whole lot of things would have been different today – just perhaps. The key thing is get busy. I say to people that are newly wed – get busy! How can you just marry a wife and you say you are going on training for six months then you leave your new bride alone. Something is wrong with that. Don’t let satan talk to your wife. How can you be fruitful in your walk with God or what He has called you to do? Get busy! The Bible says ‘God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it’. You already carry the blessings of the Lord. You have all that you need to govern the earth but you must get busy. Be deliberate about living your life according to God’s Word – get busy!

When God says get busy, it applies only within the confines of marriage. This is because men, in history and present day, have been known to do crazy things for sex. In fact it is historically proven that one of the reasons why the natural carnal man will go after power and finances is so that he can have a lot of sex partners. Women gravitate towards power – financial, political, intellectual, etc. So men will do anything to get power so that they can have multiple sexual partners.

There are several words that are translated to mean love. Over the next few days we will be discussing three of the very popular ones in ancient Greek because all the other variations can find their bearing from these three. When we talk about love it could be Eros, Philia, or Agape. Eros is the steamy passionate intimate love between a man and a woman. Philia is brotherly love, friendship. And Agape is selfless, unconditional, sacrificial love. So when you use the word love it could be either of the three as it applies to love and sex.

Prayer: Father, I ask for the grace to obey Your commands instantly, in Jesus Name.
