Take A Stand

2 Chronicles 16:9 “The eyes of the Lord search back and forth across the whole earth, looking for people whose hearts are perfect toward him, so that he can show his great power in helping them.” (LB, emphasis added).

To get aligned, we must Adopt God’s Agenda and Abandon All Distractions. To get aligned, We Must Appropriate God’s Power. Zechariah 4:6 “…Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.” (NKJV). We must appropriate God’s power. Luke 12:31He will always give you all you need from day to day IF you will make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.” (LB, emphasis added). I make no apology in saying to you that the greatest thing you may do with your life is to join the church and God’s people, as we propagate God’s Kingdom. That is the one thing that will outlast everything else you do. Think about it. Serve God with your time, with your talent, and with your treasure.

This is the one thing that will outlast every single thing you are doing right now. Believe it or not, it will outlast your career. Believe it or not, it will outlast your family. Believe it or not, it will outlast even your preferences. You may not like it, but believe it or not, it will outlast the car you are driving. The Kingdom will outlast every single thing! Building The Kingdom of God and growing a church (which is the primary expression of God’s Kingdom), is going to outlast us. Imagine, a hundred years from now, you are in heaven. Someone walks up to you and says, “Thank you! I was born fifty years after you died. But because of your sacrifice, and your labour for God’s Kingdom, I found Jesus. And now I am here in heaven”.

What can you compare with that? It is The Kingdom that will outlast us all. It is the work we do for God that will outlast us all. If you know a greater task, a greater priority, or a greater purpose than The Kingdom of God, I invite you to tell us. Another question for you is, how badly do you want to be a part of God’s agenda? Do you just want to sit on the sidelines, reading commentaries? Or do you want God to use you in the capacity He has chosen? Are you retired, planning to have time for God in your spare time? Are you afraid of being criticized or of being misunderstood? Are you afraid of serving God in obscurity, where no one recognizes you, appreciates your work, or even thanks you?

Can you serve God in obscurity and let God alone thank you? For years I was in the prayer department, and nobody knew me. But I was happy serving God. Nobody knew we prayed for hours, but we saw the results of our prayers. What if that is the life God has called you to? Why must you take yourself away from where God has put you? Think about it.

Prayer (song): Here am I, send me (x2). For the Lord needs somebody; here I am, send me. Amen!
