Optimize Life

Matthew 11:29 “Put My yoke upon your shoulders—it might appear heavy at first, but it is perfectly fitted to your curves. Learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble of heart. When you are yoked to Me, your weary souls will find rest.” (The Voice)

In the IT support team of the global organization I talked about yesterday, there were different categories of support people. There was the elite support staff who only went to the MD’s and the ED’s office to resolve IT related problems. One way or the other, I was in the elite group. So, one day I was in the MD’s office to resolve a problem. The head of IT had told him that he was sending his best guy and assured him that the problem would be resolved. And I got in there, and nothing was working. I had tried rebooting the computer. I had tried trouble shooting the computer. I had gone to the registry. I had done everything, but nothing was working.

The MD would walk in from a meeting he had gone to at any minute. And I felt the Lord say to me, “Reboot”. I was like, no, I have rebooted this system like ten times. And I was there arguing with the Holy Spirit, no, I am not going to reboot. After all my talk, He said, “Reboot!” I had a choice, the MD coming in, his system is not sorted out. He is not going to be happy and would most likely call my boss. Then it would be, okay, are you not as good as you are supposed to be? Or I could just obey the Holy Spirit. So, all I did was reboot the system and guess what? Everything was working like brand new! And as soon as the system came up, the man walked in and immediately looked at the system. And he was like, “they told me that you are one of the best”. I left that office wowed by the power of a simple reboot.

For many of us, in our lives, the Lord is saying, “Reboot”. You have come to the fifth month of the year, and God is saying, “Reboot”. You need to reboot. You feel clogged, jam-packed, overwhelmed, like your system is running slowly. You can’t print and can’t get on the network. God is saying, “Reboot”. And one of the interesting things is that, without getting into the technical details of why systems need a reboot. If you work with a Mac or a Linux box, the Mac is based on Debian, and Debian is a flavour of Linux. And Linux is a Unix derivative operating system. So, while the Mac and Linux boxes are stable, Windows is very unstable, even though almost every home and everyone has worked with a Windows system. Windows is popular but buggy and unstable.

Now, no punches at Microsoft or anything. I am just stating it as it is. So, because it is broken, it needs a reboot time and time again. The Windows operating system is like life on this Earth; it is broken. The world is broken (buggy). Most times, we have to reboot to increase performance and optimize our lives.

Prayer: Father, today, I yoke myself to Jesus and by this I am realigned, refreshed, renewed, reset, and I have rest in every area of my life, in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
