Understanding Favour

For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightlyPs.84:11 KJV

You need to celebrate favour because envy insulates you from God’s favour. Envy builds a shield around you so even if your time for favour comes, guess what happens, the shield of envy repels it. That will not be your portion in Jesus Name. You need to rid your heart totally of envy. There is nothing anybody has that I am envious of – nothing. And I do that deliberately because if I really need anything, God says He will not withhold anything good from them that fear Him [Ps.84:11]. If I don’t have something perhaps I don’t need it. Perhaps God has given the person that needs it; then praise God! If I really think I need it and someone else has it, I will praise God still because I attract what I celebrate. Plus I can go to the Father and ask anyway just like Moses did. I’d say to Him, ‘You are not a respecter of persons. I thank You for this sister or brother. I thank You for what You have done in his or her life. And it shows me that since You are able to do it in his or her life, You are able to do it in mine too’. Do you understand? This is the reason why we prophesy after we give testimonies. What we are saying in essence is the same God that did it for us will do it for you. While there are things you can do to repel favour, there are also things you can deliberately do to attract God’s favour. We will discuss three things you need to know about attracting God’s favour over the next few days.

Firstly, God’s favour is by divine choice. God favours who He chooses to favour [Ex.33:19] and no one dares question God. ‘Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?Rom.8:32. In Christ you are favoured. The most important thing to God was His Son Jesus and He gave Him up for us. If you are in Christ you qualify as God’s chosen. If you are in Christ you are God’s favourite already. So you are not just sitting around and hoping that God will choose you, except you are not saved. If you are not saved or you were saved but you’ve backslidden then you can settle that today. If you are saved, you are in Christ and God has chosen to favour you. This is so comforting. It means you don’t need to struggle because you have God’s favour already.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for choosing to favour me and I receive Your favour, in Jesus Name”.
