By Significance I

‘Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God’ Eph.4:1

You need to keep the big picture in front of you. Survival is about what you can get, success on the other hand is about what you have gotten, and significance is about what you have given. What are you giving? Survival is about staying alive, survival of the fittest. Some story reads, “When the gazelle wakes up and the lion wakes up, the gazelle knows that he must run faster than the fastest lion. The gazelle knows that if he doesn’t run faster than the fastest lion he is dead. And the lion knows that if he doesn’t run faster than the slowest gazelle, he is dead. So everybody runs”. Survival level is the most basic. It is about staying alive. The successful level is about celebrating life and the significant level is about replicating life.

In essence, your legacy is determined by your significance. The legacy you leave is determined by your significance and vice versa. How significant you are determines the extent of your legacy. And some people live and die with out leaving any legacy. ‘Their roots will dry up, and their branches will wither. All memory of their existence will fade from the earth, no one will remember their names’ Job18:16-17. Job was talking about people that live with no significance, no legacy. Your roots will not dry up. Your branches will not wither and the memory of your existence will not fade away. There will be remembrance of your name in the mighty name of Jesus. And that is the danger of living at the survival and successful level alone because very soon no body will remember you. You need to make up your mind to live a significant life with this one life that you have. If you really make up your mind nobody can stop you. The reason I can say that is because that is God’s plan for you. Of course there is the enemy that wants your doom but they will fail. [Ps.83:3-4] There are people who set out to destroy you. If you are reading this and you are not Nigerian, you may not understand this culture. Yet the truth remains in Africa there are really people that want you dead and we are not making it up. The western world thinks that it is a figment of our imagination but it is not. It is very real. Even though they are not our focus but we need to know they exist. We are not foolish to be unmindful of the devices of the enemy but they will fail in name of Jesus.

Prayer: I decree that I am living a life of significance and that my life will impact other lives significantly for the Kingdom of God, in Jesus Name.
