By Grace
‘For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God’ Eph.2:8 [KJV].
Lets examine the big picture of where repentance actually sits in seeking God and praying as it relates to the tabernacle. The tabernacle has three sections; the outer court, the inner court, and the holy of holies each section is separated with a veil. The outer court consists of the brazen altar, brazen lava; the inner court consists of the golden lampstand with seven branches, the table of shewbread, and the altar of incense; and the holy of holies has just one item which is the Ark of Covenant. When you come into His courts with praise, enter into His gates with thanksgiving, you immediately are faced with the brazen altar – the altar of sacrifices for sin. God is a holy God. You cannot approach God without dealing with Sin. Goliaths only fall in the presence of God, mountains only melt at the presence of God. In the Old Testament what was required was the blood of bulls and goats but in the New Testament it’s only the Blood of Jesus that is valid. At the brazen altar, all the sacrifices are burnt unto God. This is where true repentance happens. Everybody can access the outer court, only certain Levites can access the inner court, but only the high priest can access the holy of holies once a year. But when Jesus died on the cross, the Bible says the veil walling off the holy of holies tore from top to bottom. Signifying access; we all now have access by the Blood of the Lamb.
To access that Blood, ‘For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God’ Eph.2:8 [KJV]. Faith is an action word; faith is not passive believing. Repentance is faith that gives you access to the grace that saves you. Without repentance, you cannot access the grace that can save, even though Jesus has paid for it. This is the problem in the church today, salvation is preached without repentance and that is why people’s lives don’t change. This is why you find a lot of people that are still the same way because repentance to them is a bunch of words you just recite. It is by faith, that’s the missing link. What gives you access to grace is repentance. Without repentance there’s no access to that grace, even though it is grace and it’s free. But you must collect it. It is not God’s will that any should perish but that all should come to rrepentance. So those that don’t come to repentance will inevitably perish.
Prayer [song]: Father we have confidence, by the Blood of Jesus, to come into the place where You are. To come into the place where You are.
