Seek Restoration

‘Make me hear joy and gladness,
That the bones You have broken may rejoicePs.51:8 [NIV].

Levi paid tithe way before God instituted tithe as a law. Some people kill themselves that tithe is the law and we are not under the law. In my opinion, that is just being clueless. David did not say because iniquity was wired into him therefore he has to remain that way. That is the problem with our generation; we blame our parents for everything. I was abused as a child that’s why I am like this. Have you heard this before? You have a choice to breakthrough today and I’m praying that you will seize it and breakthrough in Jesus Name. David identified his challenge and then cried out to God for deliverance.

The third thing we need to know about sin is that sin steals your joy. It took David at least six months before he repented after he had sinned. ‘David was saying give me back my joy again. What does that tell us? Simple, from the day David sinned to the day David repented there was a period of lack of joy. He was justifying what he had done and doing all sorts of things but the joy was gone. One of my colleagues in the prayer department of the church I used to attend back in the day came to me with a burden. She told me she sees something in me that she used to have but was now lost to her. And by the time we began to talk I discovered she was talking about joy. I believe it is God who led me to tell her to go and seek God to tell her by Himself because she could hear God. This was a woman who could engage prayerfully for five hours non-stop and just keep going. Then she said there’s something but that it can’t be it. She said she was not sure but that there was something that kept coming to her mind. Apparently when she was in school a friend of hers, also a believer, had gotten pregnant and terminated it. She had to be there for her as a friend but this could not be it because she did not do anything. So I said to her, your friend that had the abortion, you that followed her, the doctor that did the procedure, all of you have blood on your hands. She was not sure what to do next. So I said take Psalm 51, go to God and stay there until God speaks to you and she went. When she came back, I could see the joy in her. She was literally glowing. She could pray for five hours meanwhile God was just dealing with her from a distance. May God not deal with you from a distance, in Jesus Name. Sin steals your Joy.

Prayer: Father, in Your mercy open my eyes to see the things that I must repent of so that my joy can be restored in full, in Jesus Name.
