Jesus Alone!
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing’ John 15:5
A lot of us are under extreme pressure from people who are debating our faith and our trust in God. And sometimes, it is because of the circumstances we are in. Perhaps you are a single lady/man trusting God for a life partner and people are suggesting to you what you should do and how you should go about getting a life partner. Some of us are being deceived into advertising our lives and our marital status on social media. If the people you know around you still have relational challenges, what about the people you don’t know? That person you meet on the Internet can give you a picture of whatever and even things they are not. I learned a while ago that the virtual world is a very comfortable domain for demons. They are able to abide in that terrain and fill people’s minds with all sorts. Thankfully, it is also a very comfortable place for the power of God and I pray that it is God’s Spirit that will fill you. So please, don’t let the pressures of life cause you to begin to dabble into things that do not edify Christ in you.
Many people were telling the Colossian Christians [Please read Colossians 2] that it must be Christ and something else. They were being told that they needed to add something to their Christianity, to their faith, because Christ alone was not sufficient. It must be Christ and human intellect – you have to reason it out after all, you are educated and you have a brain. It must be Christ and some philosophy or sociology or mystical experience; or Jesus plus a ritual ceremony, or self-denial. It was Jesus plus a lot of things but it was not Jesus alone. This has been the lie of the enemy and he is still selling this lie to people till this day. Man always wants to be adequate. But the truth about it is that on our own, Jesus says, we can do nothing; but with Him we can do all things. And if you have accepted Jesus and believe that you can do all things, why would you seek the approval of man or people in the flesh? When you were in the flesh, could you do anything? You cannot save yourself. The best of man trying to save man cannot save man. Jesus alone can save.
Please read John 9. This blind beggar had been outside the temple. They saw him everyday and could not heal him. Jesus came and healed him and they began to question his healing. His response paraphrased was, “Now I have enough! Whereas I was blind but now I can see”. Don’t try to explain your healing to such people; they will never understand it.
Prayer: Father, help me fully grasp my sufficiency in Jesus. I pray for everyone reading this today that the enemy’s veil of deceit will be torn off completely and we will enter into our sufficiency and abundance of Christ Jesus, in Jesus Name.
