“The generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed” Prov.11:25

Honestly, you and I need to start asking ourselves these hard questions, “Have I been a Taker?” If you have a friend or people around you ask them and make up your mind not to react at the response you get. Ask, “how do you see me in this relationship? Am I always demanding and taking or am I a Giver and do I give?” Guess what? The person who is always taking and never giving will become stale, unpleasant, and bitter. Just like the Dead Sea. No one can drink the water from the Dead Sea because the water is bitter, unpleasant, and poisonous. “The generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed” Prov.11:25. I am praying that you prosper but I am also saying be generous! Be generous because generous people will prosper! It is in the Word of God! There is something about giving that makes Givers grow. Givers always grow but Takers don’t. Why? It is because Givers keep making room for more. When you give, you are making room for more. For example, in God’s Favourite House we have an outreach program called “Everything-4-50”. Where we take things that are in good condition and basically give them out to others who need them for a token. At one of such programs, I packed a whole suitcase filled with stuff and gave it out. And miraculously shortly after I had another suitcase filled with stuff that I had to give away because I was not really going to use those things. They were just too many and so I had to give them away. Don’t be jealous be generous!

What is the mark of maturity? How do I know when I am mature? How do I know when I am spiritually mature? How do you tell someone that is spiritually mature? Does going to church regularly make someone spiritually mature? While coming to church regularly is important, it does not equate spiritual maturity. Some people think if they read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation then they are spiritually mature. While reading the Bible from Genesis to Revelation is vitally important, it does not equate spiritual maturity. Some think being able to speak in tongues of men and of angels equates spiritual maturity. Others think they are spiritually mature because they can give good advice even to Pastors. None of these are marks of spiritual maturity. So what is? We will get into that in detail in the next few days.
