Superior Intel
“When the king of Israel saw them, he shouted to Elisha, “My father, should I kill them? Should I kill them?” “Of course not!” Elisha replied. “Do we kill prisoners of war? Give them food and drink and send them home again to their master.” 2 Kings 6:21-22
Please read 2 Kings 8:8-23. I pray that the Holy Spirit will breathe on you as you engage this Scripture. It is the story of Elisha and the king of Aram. The king of Aram would plot to attack the king of Israel and Elisha will hear what they are saying in his house and tell the king of Israel about the plot. It is beautiful to stay in your house and hear what people are saying in their houses. It happens to me and many times it is unsolicited. I hope this births a hunger in you for depths in God.
So the king of Aram, after many unsuccessful attempts, called his generals for a meeting. I can imagine him pulling out his gun and releasing two shots in the air. Then saying, who among us is betraying us? And his generals trembling and saying, it is none of us but the prophet in Israel; he hears the things you are saying in your bedroom. May your walk with God be so intimate that when people are saying things about you, your ears will be open to hear those conversations because God wants to preserve you. If I were the king of Aram, I would befriend Elisha immediately. But guess what he did? He sent soldiers to arrest Elisha and they surrounded where Elisha was. Imagine sending a whole army to pick up one man.
In the morning when Elisha’s servant woke up, he was shocked at what he saw outside. So he ran to his master to report what he had seen and Elisha said there are more with us than are against us. Elisha said I have intelligence, I can see chariots of fire. Can you not see? His servant must have said, I cannot see Sir; all I can see are the enemy forces. So Elisha prayed for him and boom! What do you think happened to his fear? It vanished and was replaced with confidence.
Elijah prayed again, Lord smite them with blindness and he led them into Israel. Then he prayed again for God to open their eyes and they saw that they were surrounded. Elisha then told the king of Israel who was curious to know what to do, to feed them and send them away. And the Bible says from that day forward, the king of Aram did not trouble Israel. Because of the superiority of your intelligence, every king that represents Aram in your life will hear your name and back down.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, in this battle of life, please fill me with superior intelligence in every situation, in Jesus Name.
