Sing Songs

2 Kings 3:15-1  But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him. And he said, Thus saith the Lord…

We will kick off our time in God’s Presence today with worship. Do not rush over the words of this worship song. Deliberately engage your mind and imagination as you sing along:

“Lord, I thirst for you and I long to be in Your Presence. My soul will wait on You, Father draw me nearer, draw me nearer to the beauty of Your holiness. I will wait on You, Almighty God, in the beauty of Your holiness. And I will worship You, Almighty God, in the beauty of Your holiness… in the beauty of Your holiness”

Just sit with God and focus on Him; you will be shocked at how much progress you will make. Not only spiritually, even in your daily living you will discover that when you focus on God, you get answers to the things you have been struggling with. I am not one to advocate shortcuts but permit me to say this; music is one of the “shortest cuts” to the Spiritual realm. So sing to the Lord and if you can, I suggest you sing also in your local dialect because that will force you to think and focus on the Holy Spirit.

The third thing I do to attain oneness with God’ Spirit is, I combine reciting the Word of God and singing with speaking in tongues. I get a Scripture, for example “if the Spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, that same Spirit will quicken your mortal body”. I focus on that Scripture and then I play praise and worship songs from past services [from soundcloud.com/gfhlive]. Focused on that Scripture, I engage in praying in tongues and boom! Waiting on God becomes beautiful.

Lesson #4. I must watch. Hab.2:1 “I will look to see what he will say to me…” [NIV, emphasis added]. Did you notice that Habakkuk said I will look to see what He would say and not listen to what He will say? The reason is because God sometimes speaks with visuals [images]. CNN can broadcast from Washington through satellite and transmit to all distributing satellite companies and they can send signals to our homes. If CNN can do that, don’t you think the God of heaven can give you a picture of your future? If it is so easy for man, it is even easier for God and that is just so beautiful.

Prayer [song]: I love You Lord and I lift my voice to worship You, O my soul rejoice. Take joy my King, in what You hear let be a sweet, sweet, sound in Your ear (2x). Amen!
