Groundwork II

Ps.11:3 “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” [KJV]

Covenants are the cornerstones on which destinies are built. In the beginning when God made Adam and Eve, He established His covenant with them. He told them, “This is what is going to happen…This is your responsibility, and these are your boundaries”. When a marriage is about to start, at the foundation of it, there is an exchange of vows. Two vows coming together is a covenant. Even with a business it is the same thing. At the foundation of every life is a covenant.

Amazingly a lot of Christians do not know this. So how can people deal with foundational issues if they do not even know that the corner stone is covenant? If God can sort out the issues that pertain to covenant, largely God would have sorted out your foundation. When man fell, God knew man could not be patched up because it was a foundational problem. The foundation needed to be sorted out, so He sent Jesus to shed His blood and create a new covenant as a cornerstone to that foundation.

There are foundations that you need to revisit and those foundations are built on covenants. Some are covenants of God that have been neglected, and some are covenants of the enemy that have been imbibed. A coat of paint cannot fix a foundational problem, no matter how many layers you spray. Your foundation largely determines what you can carry. The kind of building that is going up depends on the kind of foundation that has gone down. Your foundation determines what you can carry.

The reason some people have not been able to shoulder great things is because their foundation is weak. The reason some people cannot carry certain levels of breakthrough financially, maritally, and in ministry surprisingly, is because something is wrong with their foundation. So if they attempt to carry something bigger than their foundation, it will crash.

This season I pray that God will revisit your foundation, fix and strengthen it, in Jesus Name.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are my Alpha, please go into my past and correct every foundational defect, in Jesus Name. Amen.
